The Press Bureau reports:— "One airship crossed the coast last night and dropped four bombs on Hartlepool, demolishing six dwelling-houses and damaging 30. "The airship operated at a great altitude, and only remained overland for a few minutes. "The remainder ofVthe bombs appear to have fallen into the sea. 'The casualties are as follows: — lulled. Injured. Men ... 1 3 Women ... 1 1 Children ... 3 5 Totals ... o 9 GERMAN LOSSES ON WEST FRONT. (Australian and X.Z. Ca-ble Association.) LONDON, March 14. A total of 79 German machines have been brought down in 10 days on the Western front. During an air fight in the North Sea three German aeroplanes were destroyed by the British.

The Admiralty reports:— "Two seaplanes on Tuesday attacked five enemy aircraft over Vhe southern part of the North Sea. They shot down and destroyed one enemy t wo-soatei\ and killed the observer of a second 111:11 chine. They drove down on to the j water another seaplane. I "The engagement lasted 3l> minutes, j and only terminated xvlion the British had expended their ammunition. Oiu machines returned safely. - ' A GERMAN CLAIM. LONDON, March 15. (Received March loth, 10.15 p.m.) A German report states:— "Wo brought down 17 enemy aeroplanes last night, of which three were on route to Freiburg." DEVASTATION WROUGHT L\ COBLENZ. AMSTERDAM, March 14. The raid on Coblenz (Prussia) hud terrific results. Tho city is completely isolated, nobody being allowed to loavo or to enter. Two munition factories are reported as burning, and vast quantities of explosives are continually exploding.
