Tho fifty-lirst annual general meeting of the ChrUtchurch Football Cir.b will be ueld in the Pioneer Club Rooms this The annual report states that teams were 1 lost your entered in the C.E.F.U. first and 6 second grade competitions, but neither was ill th<> running' for first place in their respective grades. Sirco the presentation of the last annual report many more of tho club's membera and os-meinbers havo joined the Colours, and tho roll of honour when compiled will contain the names oi woil over 200 former wearers of the Kotl and Black who have answered tho country's ca!!. The committee regret to state that, still lnoio have made the supreme sacrifice. Thirteen members have lost their lives in the war—they are: —Archer. IJ. To the relatives of these men who have gone west tho committee extends its deepest sympathy. The committee desires to still further congratulate Captain C. F. G. Humphries on paining his captaincy, and aJso on gaining tho Militars Cross; Major R. C. Wickrjjs in {raining the, D.5.0., and Corporal F. V. Kohinson upon gaining tlit* Military Medal. Jlr 1?. H. Smith, who waa elected lion, treasurer at the last annual meeting, left for Trentham at the end of 1917, and Mr A. L. Jones was elected in his place. The balance-sheet showe tho club to bo in a sound financial condition. Tho receipts have been £73 Cs lid, and the expenditure £23 17s lid. The assets total £89 ss. with no liabilities. ME EI VALE CLUB. , The thirty-sixth annual «eneral meeting of the Mcrivalo Football Club etates that at. the beginning of the year matters did not look too promising from a financial standpoint, and tho committee would have been quite satisfied if tho revenue > had equalled tho expenaea, but members who havo had the club's welfare at heart have stuck to their guns well, and tho finances have been kept in a sound condition. The special contribution of members realised £13 7s, and a picture benefit that was held at the (Jueen's Theatre with tho kind assistance of the manager, Mr J. Frost, augmented the funda by £1.1 lGs. and with a grant of £10 from tho C.R.F.U. out of tho club's benefit match, the revenue, has been such as to leave a balance to assist the funds of the incoming season. The club has 31 life members, and to theso old-timers tho club owes its present position.
