CROQUET.
SUMNER CLUB. A progressive doubles tournament was played vesterday, for prizes given by Messrs J. McDowell and T. A. Wrenn. There were 20 entries and 10 rounds were played. Mrs I*. A. Johnson was the winner with a score ot 88, Mib Jtcmmington being second with a score of 83. lira E. G. Kawnsley and Mrs I Isaac Wilson won the booby prizes. The j entry, fee© go to the X*ady Liverpool Fund. 01.\V\YA v. LIXWOOD. Six njembeis of the Linwood Croquet Club visited Opawa ajid suffered defeat by five games to four. Following are the scores, Linwood players being mentioned first: — Doubles-—Miss Sproaen and Mr 3 Good 13 lost to Mrs Maddren and Mrs Good 26, Mrs Hilaon and Mrs Marriot 19 lost to Mrs Beswick and Mrs Bonnington 26, Mrs McCree and Mrs Jones 18 lost to Mrs Jones and Mrs Jacobs 26. Singles—Miss Sprosen 13 lest to Mrs MadI dren 26, Mrs Good 26 beat Mrs Good 16, Mrs Hilson 26 beat Mra Beswick 17, Mrs Marriot 36 beat Mrs Bonnington 23, Mrs McCree 25 beat Mis Jones 8, Mrs Jones 11 loet to Mrs Jacobs 26.
