ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.
* MEETING OF GENERAL COMMITTEE. The General Committee of the St. John Ambulancc Association met last night. Present—Mossrs Arthur E. G. Rhodes (chairman), W. W. McKinney, H. Thomas, Lieut.-Colonel Creswell, Bishop Brodie, and Mesdames Watkins, Smith, and Miss Sprosen. The chairman welcomed Bishop Brodie, and said that ho was pleased to see that his Lordship was taking interest in the Association's work. The financial statement showed a balance to crodit of general account, £632 5s lid, which included the proceeds of Ambulance Day. Lieut.-Colonel Creswoll, reporting on Ambulanco Day, _ stated that tho expenses were approximately £40, representing, principally, newspaper advertising and postage stamps. Iho chairman stated that he and Mrs Rhodes would be pleased to defray the cost of the refreshments to tho helpers. On the motion of the chairman, it was agreed:—"That a hearty vote, ol thanks bo accorded to all badge-sellers, helpers at the Chamber of Commerce, Messrs Broadway, W. Goss, Timber Merchants' Association, Messrs Strange and Co., committee of the Chamber of Commerce, and to the various: givers of ftowerp and cakes, to the proprietors of tho United Service and Warner's Hotels, and to the public generally fortheir liberal response.''
On the motion of Captain McKinnev it was agreed that the following mombers of tho Timaru sub-centro be recommended to St. John's Gate for recognition of their past services to the Association. Messrs J. P. Hughson, Wm. Trott, and Walter. Smith, and Mesdames Hughson, G. Lewis, E. W. Wade, and F. A. Raymond, and Miss E. Goldsman.
