DUNSANDEL SALE. There was a good yarding of sheep and a satisfactory attendance at the Dunsandel monthly sale, and good prices were realised. Tho following sales were made:—For Johnston Bros.. 171 owes at 16s 6d; J. Boag, jun., 79 ewe lambs at 23s 7a; Mrs Henderson, 56 fat wetbers at 31s 8d ; E. J. Chatterton, 31 ewes at 355; J. VALUABLE CITY PROPERTY
OFFERED FOR SALE. A valuable block of city propertv situated at The Triangle was offered for sale by McCrostio Co., Ltd., yesterday. The property was in the William Wilson trust estate, and included in the block was the City Hotel. The block has frontages of 151 feet on High street. 82 feet on The Triangle and 92 feet on Colombo street. T&re was a good attendance at tho sale, but all tho lots in the block were passeb in. The block was put up as a whole and starring at £50,000, it went un to £80,000 bv £1000 bids fairlv rapidlv, and was then passed. * The property was then put up in lots. Lot 1 comprised three shops in Colombo street, occupied hv Messrs Hulston, D. bnoll, and Miss Kiver. having a frontago of 46 feet. City Hotels having a frontage of 4G feet to Colombo street, 82 foet to The Triangle, 24 feet to High street including two shops. feet to High, street. This started at £250 per foot frontage, and "was passed at £310. Lot 3 comprised three shops, occupied by Messrs Reid, Gormley. Simpson, with a frontage of 45 feet to High street. This started at £300 per foot and was passed at that value. Lot 4 comprised two shops, occupied by Messrs Abra and Wright, with a frontage of 25 feet to High street. This started at £275 per foot, and was passed at £300. Another property, in five lots, in the same estate, of shops .and dwelling fronting on Colombo street and Hastings street (opposite the Sydenham Park) was subsequently offered but no sale resulted. CANTERBURY COLLEGE LEASES. A very successful sale was held yesterday by the Farmer' Co-op. Association of leases of agricultural reserves on account the Canterbury College Board of Governors. The following were the results:— Lot 1—251 acres 2 roods 28 porches, Mt. Thomas block, to J. H. Ensor, 28s per acre. Lot 2—250 acres, part of same block— Henry Smith, 23s per acre. Lot 3- —120 acres, Oxford—A. Wotherspoon, 25s per acre. Lot 4 —70 acres. Leithfield—Mrs E. McLean, 22s per acre. BURNSIDE MARKET. (riUJSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DTJNEDIN, March 13. At Burnside to-day 185 fat cattle were penned, a fair proportion being primo heavy weight heifers and cows, with a few pens of prime bullocks. Last week's rates were maintained throughout.
Sheep—276B were penned. A fair proportion wero extra prime heavy wethers and ewes, for which the demand was been at late rates. Medium weight also sold on a par with late values. Lighter sorts were taken by graziers. Lambs—l2s7 were penned. The quality was good, with a few .pens of very prime. Competition by freezing buyers was keen, and a clearance effected at late rates. Pigs—Medium yarding sold at late high rates. STUD SHEEP SALE. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) INVERCARGILL, March 13. An important displenishing sale of John McKerchar's Border Leicester flock, founded half a century ago, and equal to any in New Zealand, was held to-day, when the whole catalogue except two sheep was sold at good prices. Buyers were present from many phrts of the South Island. Top price, 80gs, was paid for a one-shear ram by Royal Prince, the purchaser being Donald Mac Donald, of Edendalo. The majority of tho shcop wero bought by Southland farmers, but the following purchases were made by outsiders: —Stud rains: Royal Prince ? 30gs, J. C. Kellan (Temuka); Flemington Majestic, 29gs, W. M. Orbell (Waimate); one-shear, 15gs, A. Bradford (Owaka); one-shear, 62gs, J. R. Gilchrist (Oamaru); one-shear, 27gs, Robert Turnbull (Pomahaka); ono-shear, 19gs, H. E. Steel (Clinton); one-shear, 30gs, G. P. Johnston (Maitland); one-shear, llgs, A. North (Owaka); ram lambs, 6gs, T. S. Little (Windsor); five two-shear rams at 1\ gs, C. M. Brooks (Palmerston South). Stud ewes sold up to 30gs, and ewe lambs 'to 22gs.
