The death is announced of Lord Livthstvood, at tho age of 79 years.
Mr H. E. Holland vacates the editorship of the "Maoriland Worker" at the end of the present month.
Captain Jamieson, who ha? been As-sistant-Provost Marshal at Feaiherston Camp is leaving to return to civilian life aftor same time in camp. Mr J. "\V. Boanland and Mrs Beanland left lor Auckland last evening, to meet- their son, Private A. W. Beanland, who is returning with the next batch of invalided soldiers. Mr A. L. T. Jones, who has bcon mannger of the Ashburton branch of the Bank of New Zealand for the past two and a half years, has roceiveJ notice of his transfer to Nelson, and will Jc-avs Ashburton about the end of April. Mr J. McGibbon. of Christchurch, will charge at Ashburton. Mr W. H. Lunn, who for four and a half ypars has been manager of the Union Bank of Australia in Ashburton, has received notico of his transi'or to Hastings, and will take liis departure from Ashburton in about throe weeks' time. It is understood that Mr Coyne, of the relieving staff, will temporarily fill tho vacancy at Ashburton. Mr Lea Gerard, of the fitting depart- j ment of B oot h> Macdonald and Co., Ltd.. was yesterday presented with a ; handsome clock, suitably inscribed, to mark the occasion of his marriage*, which took place a fow days ago.
