Their successes in respect to Russia and Roumania have led many German publicists to ro-Jframe the pcace terms. Horr Haaso (a Socialist leader) outlines the terms as follows:— "Italy, as a punishment for her treachery, must serve the Central Powers economically for a number of years, and must cede territory as far as tho Tagliamento, restore Tripoli to the Turks, and give Somaliland to Germany. France must pay £2,000,000,000 indemnity, cede Verdun, Belfort, Longwy, Briey, the French slopes of the Vosges, the western portion of Morocco, «ind part of tho French Congo ami Somaliland/' Prince Lowenstein urges tho necesf:"v of fiormnnv demnn r< n ,r raw rials as indemnity. Canada must 6uppiv coppwr, cowtit, aiiu luutiiei; tralia, spelter, wool, grain, and frozen meat; and the other colonies, jute, oils, rubber, rice, and tea. South Africa must supply gold. France must give olive oil; Italy vegetabls silk, ana hemp;. Hussia; wheat, flax, and platin'im. ..... "Only , ''in,_B us way," he says, "can tho war be made a source of blessing
and save the Germans from crushing luxation and mass emigration. Destiny compels these stops, and if wc neglect this opportunity sho will never give us another chance." GERMAN EMPRESS CHARGED. AMSTERDAM, March 11. A sensation has occurred in the German Reichstag. A committee has opened an enquiry into allegations that tho Empress and tho Chambonain von Beiir Rimond gained £200.-000 by dealing in munitions. Other enquiries into similar incidents aro pending.
