Her Excellency tho Countess of Liverpool attended the concert ol the Cluistchurch Symphony Orchestra last night, and will attend the annual meeting of the Victoria League ou Friday night. Sir Joseph Ward returned to "Wellington lust evening. His Honour Mr Justice . Hcrdman leaves for the West Coast this morning. The Press Association agent at Wellington telegraphs that Air P. C. AVebb, is reported to have entered Trentham camp yesterday afternoon. An Auckland telegram states that Colonel 0. W. S. Patterson has resumed command of the Auckland Military District, the arrangement by winch ho was to temporarily relievo Colonel Logan at Samoa having been canccllcd, owing to Colonel Logan, who is on furlough, having desired, for ' personal reasons, to return to Samoa. Our Dunedin correspondent telegraphs that Mr Warwick Braithwaite, of Dunedin, is doing well at tho Royal Academy of Music, London, having won the Goring Thomas scholarship, also a prize offered by Farjeon for tho best melody composed by his pupils. Mr Braithwaite is now one of the associate editors of the ne w Academy journal, tho "Acadcmitc."'
