AKAROA-WAINUI ROAD BOARD
The monthly meeting of the Akaroa- .| Wainui Road Board was held at Duvauchdle v on Saturday. Present —Messrs Geo.. Axm- ' strong (in the chair),- W. ■ "Williams, „W. . Warner, and T. W. Wilkina. An. apology ; was received from Mr R. Pettigrew. Mr J. D. Bruoe, as representing the Akaroa County Council, wrote jn_ regard to: ,tho proper ranging of the roads in the county. : It waa resolved to aek the Council to ion- • vene a meeting • of' all locals bodice. in.'the district to coino to aomo'definite .understanding about the matter. Mr T. le Comte wrote in respect to the , opening of Wilson's road. Ho urged that , • the road should bo opened right up to the ; ridge.—Received. _ t i Mr le Comte ako wrote complaining that Mr R. Latter had put a gate across the ' road at the top of Robinson's Bay Valley, that had been open -to the publio for: about ,;i 30 years. Hie surveyor reported that;, the ; road was really a track on private property. —Received.
The chairman reported that ho_ tad seen several Gough's Bay residents with regard . to the state of their road. It certainly needed attention before -tlx© -winter. It was jre- v';' solved that the Board employ a man. for a month to put the road in order. . " The financial report showed that the bank. overdraft stood at £70, but that with ■•h© £ rates due to com© in, the credit at .th© end v! of the munth would bo about £600.
