FOOTBALL.
SYDENHAM LEAGUE CLUB. The sixth annual general meeting of the Sydenham League Club was held last evening, Mr W. 5, Putnam presiding over a fair attendance. The report and balance-sheet disclosed a satisfactory position. The ■ senior division hda won the Shield competition, and the juniors the Knock-out competition, whDe tij third and fourth teams and also occupied prominent positions in their grades. Seventyfive members had enlisted with the Expeditionary Forces, and five had made the supreme sacrifioe. The receipts had been £2.7 14s 9d, and the expenditure £19 13s 3d, leaving a credit balance of £8 Is 6d. Officers were elected as follows: —President, Mr' "VV. J. Putnam; vice-presidents, Messrs W. Grigsby, J. Smythe, T. Dawson, \V. Campbell. D. Buchanan, T. King, L. G. Simpson, A. Smith, A. Gee, and C. Mallard; chib captain, Mr B. A. Gaeeon; deputy-cap-tain, Mr W. King; secretary and treasurer, Mr S. Mallard; delegates Centre, Messrs S. Mallard, E. Gasson. and S. Ayling; general committee, Messrs V. Smythe, i\ Matthews, T. King. R. McCaw, O. Row, W. Main, and G. Grafton; hon. auditor, Mr Simpson. A number of new members were elected. The opening day was left to the committee to decide upon.
