THE SUBMARINE MENACE. MORE GERMAN BOMBAST. (By Cable.—rreas Association.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association.) 'Received March Stli, 10.25 p.m.) AMSTERDAM, March /. Admiral von Mueller, head of the engineering branch of the German Navy, has informed the newspapsrs that the submarines will sink 600,000 tons monthly from January to June in 1918, thereby halving the total of English tonnage, excluding vessels under 2000 tons. THE ANGLO-SWEDISH AGREEMENT. (Received March Bth. 10.25 p.m.) STOCKHOLM, March 7. The Anglo-Swedish agreement concerning tonnage has occasioned indignation in Germany. The "North German Gazette" states: "According to the Declaration of London these ships must bo considered enemy ships. • The transfer of tonnage is equivalent to direct participation in the economic war against Germany. Neutrals therefore are committing acts incompatible with neutrality." THREAT TO DENMARK. (Beuter's Telegrams.) AMSTERDAM, March 7. German newspapers are hinting at an ultimatum to Denmark on account of the internment of the Germans who formed tho prize crew on the Igotz Mendi.
