CREDITORS' PETITION FOR BANKRUPTCY. SUBSTITUTED SERVICE SOUGHT. A petition to have Mr J. McComhsj M.P. for Lyttelton, adjudged a bankrupt was filed at the Supreme Court, iChristchurch, on Thursday, the petitioning creditors being Kincaids, Ltd., and Bowron Bros. The potition has been lodgeS on the ground that Mr McCombs has committed an available act of bankruptcy, a distress warrant having been executed on him and returned "nulla bona." The present whereabouts of Mr McCombs is not exactly "known, said th® petitioning creditors are moving for an order for substituted service. This matter is, of course, entirely at the discretion of the judge, and will probably bo heard at the Supreme Court in Chambers this morning.
