MEETINGS AND SOCIALS.
CONCERT AT BURWOOD. In the Burwood Hall on Wednesday night a very successful concert was given oy me Caledonian i'atiiotic Concert I'arty iu aid °« . the -BurwootT Soldiers' Sendoff Committee. A crowded house enjoyed to the full the splendid entertainment provided. Songs were given by Mis Scott, idis 3 Poninghouse, and Messrs Malcolm and Biuco Wilson; Scotch and Irish dances by Misses Turner and Miss Smith. Pipe-Major Taylor played ior the dances, and Mrs C. L. Smith accompanied the songs. Mr Kowsc moved a hearty vote of thanks to the performers, and on behalf of the committee presented Mrs C. L. Smith with a backet of flowers as a token of esteem for arranging the enjoyable evening's' entertainment.
MISTLETOE LODGE,
At tho last meeting of tho Mistletoe Lodge, I\o. 3, U.A.0.D., A.b. Bro. 1-V L. Booth presided. After transacting routine business a 6ocial was held for the purpose of doing honour to Bro. J. W. Baty, who ha 3 just completed his term as D.l\ in No. 1 District. An excellent programme was presented. Music was provided by .uro. Witlyams'a Orchestra. A concertina solo by Mr Campbell, a banjo and mandolin duct by Bros. Skinner and Birch, a double clog dance by Messrs 3. Keev'ca and E. Walker, and songs by Bros. F. Cartwright and R. Mackay were thoroughly appreciated. During the evening Grand President Bro". l'\ George, on behalf of the lodges in A'o. 1 District, presented tho guest with a silver cruet, and in the couisc of his remarks he spoke very hi'/lily of the many excellent qualities displayed by Bro. Baty in his life and work as a Druid. Various other speakers heartily endorsed the remarks of tho Grand President. Bro. Baty. in his reply, thanked the Bros, of 'lso. "l District for their kindneis to him during his term of office, and the handsome present they had given, him. The toasts honoured during the evening were "The King and the Druids.." "The Grand Lod?e Officers," "Our Soldier Brothers," and "Visiting Brethren.".
