PERSONAL NOTES.
Lancc-Corporal Rao, of Dunedin, who died of wounds in Franco on February 16th, enlisted in the Otago Infantry, 3rd Reinforcements (Main Body), and served with the Anzacs until he was wounded on August Bth, 1915. From Gallipoli ho returned to Dnnedin. After a few months' spell there ho again felt well enough to rejoin his brother and mates at the front, and managed to get back there with the Tenth Reinforcements, and arrived in France. Ho got through without sickness or mishap till he received his fatal wounds. He was one of the comparatively few Main Body men left in the tiring line.
Mr J. Harrison, 46 Francis avenue, has received advice that his son, Corporal H. V. Harrison, who left with the 22r.d Reinforcements, is being invalided home.
Private "William Hector Bryant, second son of Mr C. H. Bryant, 50 R&nfurly street, St. Albans, whose death is reported at the fronts left the Dominion with tho 28th Reinforcements. Ho was employed as a cabinet-maker bv A J. White, Lui. As a member of the St. Albans Reohabite Tent he was much interested in tiio Order, and is the fifth member the Tent has lost on active, service.
Mr T. Timings, of Rakaia, has received advice that his son, ltiileiuan E. Timings, who was wounded in France, is being invalided home.
News !ias been received by Mr J. Yates, 73 Canon street, that iiis eldest son, Private U. L. Yates, has been admitted to hospital in France, suffering from trench fever. Prior to liis enlistment with tho J 7til licinforcements, Private Yates was a member of tho commercial staff of the Christchurch Press Company, Ltd.
Mr Thomas Ballan, 3'20 Madras street, has received advico that his son, Private H. H. B. Ballan, is being invalided home.
Mr W. Sutton, Westerfield, has received adrico that his son, Rifleman A. Sutton, has been admitted to hospital suffering from appendicitis. Rifleman Sutton left with the lOtli lieinforcfc.Tnents, and lost a leg in the Mesaines battle.
