AMERICANS TAKE PRISONERS.
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Kcuter'a Telegrams.) LONDON, March 5. A French communique states: — '•There has been fairly violent artillery .lire oil the right bank of tho Meuse, and in the region of Caurieres AVood, and in Chaumc Woods, where a German attack was repulsed after a lively contest. "An' enemy attack at Chevaliers Wood was completely checked. "A German raid on the American trenches in Lorraine was repulsed. "American patrols took prisoners."
