IMPERSONATION CHARGE.

NEW ZEALAND SOLDIER

SENTENCED

(By Cable.—Press Association.— vßccciv.ed March Gth, 10.30 p.m.) SYDNEY. March G. Joseph McAulifle, who pleaded guilty to forging a document by means of which he obtained military payments to which lie was not entitled, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment.

The Judge added: "The Now Zealand authorities desire that you bo returned to England from whencc you deserted, as soon as the military authorities are ready to send you. I have made a recommendation that you be handed over to them."

On his arrival in Sydney accused went with other returned soldiers to the Anzao Buffet, signed himself as Drirei Herbert Win. Maxwell, and obtained an advance of £2.
