FIRE IN CATHEDRAL SQUARE.
SALON CELIA STOCKS UNDAMAGED.
The many clients of the Salon Celia will be relieved to hear that the beautiful stocks of French blouses, lingerie, jewellery, and novelties suffered no damage from the fire on Saturday. In war days it is extraordinary to receive models by each mail, designed by French artists, and seen in _ their own inimitable and delicate fashion by French women.
But Madame Celia (who lived in Paris for some yeare. now of Salon Celia, London) is well-known at the War Office for Passports, and is one of the few women allowed to cross to France for any other than urgent war purposes. She hyss regularly visited Paris before and since August, 1914, braving danger of submarines, and the great discomfort of travel between London and Paris at this time. It is due to her grit ajnd cleverness that the exquisite selection, of feminine apparel is available at the Salon Celia, and in view of the difficulties of securing French stocks, and as Madame Celia has bought very heavily because of the increasing prices, it was fortunate indeed to discover the fire in its early stages. Business will be oonducted as usual at 9 a.m. to-day. 1
