UNREST IN IRELAND.

CONSPIRACY AGAINST CONVENTION. (By Cable.—Press Association Copyright.) ("The Times.") LONDON, March 28. Ihe lawlessness in Ireland is largely the result of an organised conspiracy against the Convention. Many people from the east and south are taking refuge in Dublin. A sinister feature is that the priests are powerless, and the Church as a whole has not spoken. The impression of divided counsels is producing unfortunate consequences. At Mavo Sinn Feiners demanded a public apology from a priest for denouncing lawlessness from the pulpit. Prospects of firmer Government action have revived interest in the Convention.
