THE WEATHER
MAGNETIC OBSERVATORY. Meteorological observations taken at 9-30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on March Ist:—
The readings taken at the Asliburton Domain weather station at 0 a.m. yesterday were:—Barometer, 30.14; thermometer, max. CI, min. 39. SUMMARY AND FORECAST. The weather has been cool and changeable pc no rally, with scattered showers along ttio Kast Coast. An anti-cyclone has ruled, but relatively low pressure has prevailed*northwards of the Dominion, und moderate to strong east and south-east winds have predominated. Present indications are for moderate to strong easterly winds, backing to northerly, and cloudy to overcast conditions in miiny parts of the country. The barometer has a falling tendency.
