Dr. Coleridge Farr asked that Mr Kayc, as one of the newest directors, who had recently paid his first visit to the mines at Ngakawau, might give his first impressions. Mr Kayc said, that in company with his fellow-directors, he recently visited Ngakawau, and to put it in a sentence, be was amazed and ' astounded with what he saw. Everything was so much better than he had anticipated. The whole of the work had been carriei out in such a complete manner, and planned with great foresight; then in the mine itself, tho immense quantity of coal augured well for the company: one seam he saw of magnificent coal I 25 feet thick. Altogether he had come away highly pleased with the result of • his visit. J The chairman then formally moved | the adoption of the report and balance- ! sheet, which wa-3 carried, j ELECTION OF OFFICERS, p The retiring directors, Messrs Joynt I and Nicholls, were re-elected, i Mr W. S. Godfrey was re-appointed j auditor for the ensuing year, j Mr Clark congratulated the directors j,on the success of their efforts. He j admired the way the directors had . stuck to their work, and moved a verv hearty vote of thanks .to them, the staff, and all concerned in the year's work. This was seconded by Dr. Teichclman. and carried. Dr. Coleridge Farr said that he wished to add a word of commendation The management, directors, and staff deserved great credit.
