Scaile ! told Hannah and Co. that he was a re- ! turned soldier, and displayed a certifi- l catc of discharge from the iorces on 1 account of medical unfitness, 'i'l.e Magistiate found that defendants honestlv believed that Scaifc was eligible for "employment, bnt held they did Dot have reasonable grounds for that belief. He suggested that the Government Statistician should have been communicated with. . His Honour, in his judgment said, in bis opinion, the appellants had taken all reasonable steps.
