A showery morning probably sccounted for the fact that the attendance at the Addington yards yesterday was below the average. -Freezing buyers as well as butchers were operating fairly freely in the fat lamb pens, but butchers did most of the buying in the fat sheep section. The yardings of cattle of all classes and pigs wore about 'the same as last week. STORE SHEEP. The entry of Store sheep was again a large one aiifl representative, including lines from as far north as Nelson. The predominating feature were ewes and lambs, chiefly of fair quality. Similar to last week, the demand was keen right through the sale, lambs being quitted at prices on a par with last sale rates, and possibly a iitfle better. Values were easier for aged and poor quality ewes, but for .'.nything good the price was well maintained. The range of prices was:— Two-tooth ewes, 22s 9d to 345. Four and six-tooth ewes, to 36s od. Six and eight-tooth ewes, to 33s lOd. Sound-mouth ewes, to 33s 9d. Two-tooth wethers, to 26s 6d. Four and six-tooth wethers,- to ols 2d. Six and eight-tooth wethers, to 30s Gd. A line of good three-year-old bullocks made up to £13 10s. The entry was a good one. DAIRY COWS. There was a large entry of dairy eows, the yarding very uneven. The passing- were rather heavy, but really good stuff was not hard to quit, a few sales going up to £11, £1.5. and £17 Moderate sorts made from £7 10s to £9 10s; inferior kinds from Lo 12 s 6d to £7. PIGS. There was a small entry of store pigs, but a good demand, a Temuka buyer operating largely. Weaners were in good demand and sold well. Prices were as follows : — Best stores, 55s to 69s 6d. Medium stores, 45s to 545. Small stores, 23s to 40s. Weaners. 22s to 275. There was a medium entry of fat pigs and not too keen a demand, in view'of the new Government regulations in fixing tho price of bacon.
