Instead of holding the usual concert to raise funds for prizes, the Lyttelton Borough School Conimitteo has obtained permission from th<> management of the Harbour Light Picture Theatre to hold special sessions to-morrow cfternoon and evening, when a percentage of tho takings will bs given in itid of the school's prise fund. GALE CAUSES DAMAGE. The high wind prevailing at Lyttelton yesterday caused considerable dumag 0 to tho Harbour Board's No. 1 Shed, situate near No. 7 breastwork. A sudden whirlwind, accompanied by a cloud of duet, lifted two skylights from tho building, smashing thirteen largo panes of glass. Later in the day the barricade, erected to prevent trespassers gaining access to No. 7 Wharf was damaged by a gate swinging back before " gust of wind, and smashing a section of the barricade. Tlve wind did further damago in tho town, especially to window#.
