Tho Works and Sanitary Committee reported that the erection ot the AdOington Libraiv building was commenced i»y day labour the previous -Monday. Upon tne recommendation ot tne By-laws and Finance Committee, the Town Clerk was instructed to take the necessary steps, to formally close the old towing paths along the abandoned portion ol tue lioathcote river bed. The Abattoir Committee reported that tho new nianager of thc abattoir, Mr J. H. \\ ond, took lip his duties on Monday, February 18th. The "Works and Sanitary Committee reported that Messrs Reese Bros., who had recently acquired the property at. the corner "of Lincoln road and Fark road, had given .sufficient land for the purpose of rounding off the corner, and when thc widening was effected it would enable vehicles to pass between the tram-line and the footpath. '1 he committee had acecptcd the offer, and had instructed the city solicitor to prepare \.hc transfer. L'pon the committee's recommendation, Messrs Reese Bros, were thanked for their gift.
