(Received February 22nd, 12.20 a.m.) LONDON, Februapr 21. In the House of Commons, in reply ' io a question, Dr. T. J. MacNamara (Under-Secretary to the Admiralty) said that it was not desirable to givo information concerning the recent German raid in tho Channtel. The contention ; that Gorman raiders and submarines could operate successfully in the Chanjipl and tho Straits-of Dover was entirely unjustified by the facts. No matter how completely we controlled the sea, -we could not always prevent such attacks on a dark night. The Admiralty had every reason to be satisfied ' -with the results achieved in recent ■ weeks. i THE WEEK'S DEPREDATIONS. , (Australian »nd 2J".Z. table Association.)
