A deputation of Queensland sugargrowors told Air Hughes that the 'oss of sugar at Mack ay was estimated at £250,000. Mr Hughes promised, that tho Commonwealth would pay for thu quantity destroyed. TALLOW TO BE COMMANDEERED. MELBOURNE, February 81. A new regulation empowers the Commonwealtii to commandeer stocks of tallow. Compensation is not to exceod £4-j per ton.
