FLOWER SHOW.

* RICCARTOX HORTICTLTUKAL SOCIETY. In surroundings snch as the Riccarion Racecourse, the Autumn Show of tho Riccaxton Horticultural Society could not fail to attract a record attendance. Tho Show, which opened at 2.30 yesterday afternoon, was held in the tea kiosk, and was successful, both from the point- of view of entries and the quality of tho displays. In a-ddition to the competitive classes, there were several •plendid stands for exhibition only, notably one of roses by Mrs G. Murray-Aynsley, a well-known enthusiast, and a collection oi outdoor grown flowers staged by Nairn and Sons. The silver cup, for tho best display of roses, was awarded this year to Mr E. F. Stead, who has already held it once. Afternoon' tea was procurable on the Terandah of tho kiosk, this department being in the hands of lady members of the Society.
