FESTIVAL OF N.Z. MUSIC.
* MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The Festival Committee for the. ojicourase. ment of mu3ic by New" Zealand composers, met yesterday at tho City Council Chambers. Present—The Mayor (Mr 11. Holland) in tho chair, Mcsdamos Gowor-Burna, Robinson, and Emmcrson, Messrs R. i*. Hor/-.;. 11. Neville Smith, C. H. E. Graham, Arthur Lilly, and H. M. Johnson. It was decided to a?k Mr Alfred Hill for permission to perform his cantata "Hicemoa." The following sub-coirmiittee was appointed to select and report upon the works to be performed at the lestival:—Mrs Gover Burns, Mrs Emmerson, Mr Alfred Bunz, Mr Neville Smith, and Mr Graham. It was decided to hold the chorus rehearsals tii> tho Chamber of Commerce, commencing l early iii March. It was decided to invite members of church choirs and musical societies to bccome members of tho Festival Chorus. Mr R. A. Home was appointed convenor of a special sub-committee- for management of the festival. Mr Alfred Bunz accepted the position of chief conductor.
