I was surprised to notice in tho paper that a public meeting liad been called, and aitaough I had not received a reply to my letter I cabled on Mr Jamiuson on "Wednesday afternoon to ascertain if he had been invited' to the meeting. Ho assured me that he had not received any invitation, and wo concluded that the Linwood Burgesses' Association had decided against the blocK system without hearing the evidence of tho oxpononts.
