INTER-SCHOOLS' FOOTBALL.
TO-DAY'S MATCHES. The two secondary schools' football tournaments "will bo commenced this afternoon. Tho Wellington College team arrivod yesterday morning, and tho Timaru Boys' High School team lasrt evening. The. Wanganui boys are duo by this morning's ferry steamer. The four High Sciiool fifteens will be playing at the Show Grounds, Addington, tJiis afternoon. The first match, that between Timaru and Southland, will commence at 1.30 p.m., and the contest between Christcliurcli and Otago will folloiv immediately, the play in this match being timed to commence at 3 p.m. The ground -will be in fine order, and with the large stand overlooking the playing area, the public will bo able to watch the games under tho bost possible conditions. The admission fee at tlie gate will be 6d, and the grand stand 6d. Returned soldiers in uniform and. schoolboys holding passes will bo admitted free. Arrangements have been made for an adequate service of trams to convey tlio public to and from the grounds throughout the afternoon. On Christ's College ground, which, by tho way, is one of the driest in Canterbury, an exceptionally fast, close, and interesting match is predicted between the Wellington College and Christ's College teams, this gamo being the first of the triangular Inter-collogi-ate tourney. Play will begin at 2.45 p.m. A charge of Is admission is being made in this and the remaining fixtures, on Monday and Wednesday next, the whole of tho proceeds to go to the Red Cross Fund.
