INVALIDED SOLDIERS.
CONTINGENT ARRIVES TO-MORROW. FOURTEEN COT CASES.. A contingent of invalided soldiers will arrive at Lyttelton to-morrow morning instead of to-day, as was anticipated. A special train to convey tlio nearest relatives and friends of the returning men will leave the Cliristchurch railway station at eight a.m. to-morrow for the port. Passengers will lequire to be in possession of a permit from the Defence Department enabling them to travel by the train. On arrival at Lyttelton the me n -rill be welcomed by the Mayor of Christchurch, Mr H. Holland, and by Colonel ChafFey, O.C.D. The disembarkation will proceed under the direction ot" Lieutenant Paterson, who has been appointed military landing officer. The Automobile Association lias arranged to have fifty motor-cars waiting at the Cliristchurch railwav station to convey the men to their hom?s. Later in the day they will be entertained at luncheon bv the Red Cross Society, who arc appealing for contributions of spring flowers for decorating purposes, and also for donations of fruit, which it is requested, should be left at the Red Cross depot nu the corner of Worcester and Manchester streets, before 1 p.m. to-day. The men will also be invited to avail themselves of the of the Y M.C.A. and Returned Snlr'ipr.e' Clnh. There are one hundred and twentythree Canterbury soldiers in the oon- s tingent, of whom fourteen are cot cases.
