INSURING GOOD DIGESTION.
IMPORTANCE OF PREVENTING FOOD 1 FERMENTATION IN STOMACH. ' Good digestion usually means good, health. So long a s the stomach does its work properly disease s»>ji find no lodgment in the "human system; the liver, kidnevs, and intestines will perform their work perfectly and remain in perfect health; but interfere with the proper digestion of lood. and fl-n uuGnding train of troubles i 3 set in motion. About the only thing that "will upset the stomach and interfere with the digestion is an excess of acid, usually ca'aseu by food fermentation. Food fermentation is due to chemical action in the food itself. This fermentation causes the formation of gas, or wind, as well a s acid, resulting in the unnatural distention of tho stomach and tho burning by the acid of tho delicate lining of tho stomach. Medicines and tonics cannot relieve thi s condition —they usually make it worse. Tho fermentation and acid are to blame,' and these must bo overcome and prevented by taking after meals half a teaspoonul of bisurated magnesia in a little hot or cold wator. Physicians recommend bisurated magnesia espocially because it stops or prevents fermentation of food andi neutralises tho acid instantly, making it bland and harmless, without irritating or upsetting tho stomach in any way. Get a little bisurated magnesia from your chemist and try it the next time your food ferments and upsets your stomach. Note how quickly the acid is neutralised, and how soon you forget that you have such a thing as a stomach. *561
