ItusscLl, Minister of Public Health, had enquiries made concerning complaints about the treatment of returned soldiers in the Avondalci Mental Hospital recently." It was stated in Auckland on the authority of the Returned Soldiers' Association that these men were being treated with unnecessary harshness.

Mr Russell says there are ojily four soldiers in tho Auckland Mental Hospital. Three of them, when seen by Dr. Hay. assured him that they were comfortable and had no complaints to make. The fourth was not in a lit condition to be interviewed.
