KEDUCED ENTRIES

(Br OCR COMMERCIAL r.DITOP. ) The entries of stock were much, smaller than usual on account of the holidays, and the wet weather, and the attendance was below the average. The change in the weather was welcomed, by both farmers and graziers, fat cattle sold well on account of the shortage in offerings, and the fat lamb market was very iirm. Store sheep were also in very fair demand, bat priccs at the opening of the sale were somewhat easier. Fat sheep sold well, especially at the end of the sale. There was ii dull pale for store cattle, and a good demand for springing dairy cows. Fat pigs met.with a fair enquiry, but there were few stores offered. STORE SHEEP. There was a moderate yarding of store sheep, ewes again forming the bulk of the offerings. The rain did not improve the appearance of the -heep, which felt its effects after such a long spell of hot and dry weather. The attendance of buyers was smaller than usual, and tho sale opened at rather easier rates. The range of prices was as follows.: — Two-tooth ewes, 26s 3d to 36s 9d. Four and six-tooth ewes, 27s to 20s lid. Six and eight-tooth ewes, 12s 9d to Oil. Sound-moutb ewes, 21s 3d to 34s 3d. Four and six-tooth wethers, to 2-ls Ski. Sound-mouth wethers, 18s 3d to 235. FAT SHIvEP. There wore barely eight raecs filled with tut sheep of mixed quality and the ram attoetcd their appearance. The majority were medium quality ewes, there being few pens of prime heavy sheep. There was a good demand ihroujrhout, and several peus of unfinished sheep were taken l>y graziers. Calves made from 12s for very small to £3 10s for good vealers, 'and to £5 for extra prime and well grown. STORE CATTLE. The store eattle market- was only moderately supplied. Tho bulk ,of a small yarding comprised dry cows, but there were a few lines of good three-year-old steers, and some young calves. There was very little demand. Priccs were as follows :— Yearlings, 3(h. Two-year heifers. £5 7s 6d: Two and » half-year heifers, £7 6s. Three-year steers, £9 to £9 2s 6d. Three-year heifers, £8. Dry cows, £4 10s to £7 10s. DAIRY COWS. There was a fair yarding of dairy cows, principally of young springem, all sent forward in good condition. There was a fair demand, and the best of the yarding made from £15 to £16 ss, ordinary cattle £10 to £11, and poor sorts from £5 to £S PIG.S. There was a medium entry of fat pigs, and a fair demand. Prices were as follows:-—-Choppers, £3 10s to £5 10s. Extra heavy baconers, £5 to £5 lO.s. Heavy baconers, £4 7s Od to £1 15s. Lighter baconers. £3 12s to £4. Equal to 7d to 7id per lb. Heavy porkers, 50s to 555. Light porkers. 40s to 475. Equal to 7Jd to per ib. A few small p'.gs were all that were offered in the store pens, and these sold at 19s to 275, and weaners 10s 6cl to 18s 6d.
