MINES IDLE IN WH3TPORT DISTRICT. (PitESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WESTPORT, April 7. - All the coal mines were idle yesterday, and are idl© again to-day. The voting at Stockton on Thursday night was unanimously in favour of ceasing work. At Millerton the majority was 217. Tho Denniston men decided by a majority of 12 to continue work, out when the .decisions elsewhere were ascertained they also ceased. The watersiders are loading ooal in stock, b.ut it will all be disposed of to-day. . The train service will necessarily be cut down.
