JJranting, leader of the Socialist Party in Sweden, is visiting Petrograd on an important political mission. The visit has caused a sensation in German Socialist circles. Cable A«aociation.) PAIiIS, April 4. •'Lo Petit Pavisien's" Petrograd correspondent states that tho army received General Alexieff's appointment as Commander-in-Chief with enthusiasm. BRITISH LABOUR'S CONGRATULATIONS. LONDON, April 4. A deputation of Labour members is going to Russia to request tho Government to convey their congratulations to their Russian comrades. Tho Government has received no communication from the new Russian Government to the effcct that they are anxious to modify the demand for the expulsion of the Turk from Europe, which is one of the conditions of the Allies' terms of peace.
