KITCHENER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS.
NAVAL SCHEME ABANDONED. (PRESS ASSOCIATION' TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, April 4. In connexion with the proposed foundation of the Kitchener Memorial Scholarships, for which the Hon. K. Heaton Rhodes gave £1000 as a nucleus of the fund, information has been received that Kitchener scholars would be ineligible to enter the Australian Naval College. The proposal to establish Naval Scholarships has, therefore, been abandoned. and the Council of Education will further consider the matter unless tho Government in the meantime formulates a practicable suggestion.
