Powell, to be senior parcel clerk, Auckland. AN OFFICIAL'S GRIEVANCE. ALLEGED VICTIMISATION. (press ASSOCIATION- telegram.) HAMILTON, November 16. A case of alleged victimisation of a local telegraph official named Scott is creating interest in Hamilton. Scott is one of a large number of seceders j from the Waikato Regimental Band, and is alleged to have attempted to stop the Te Awamutu Band playing away a reinforcement draft from [ Hamilton. It is said that as a result of representations from the local miliI tary officer to the Postrnaster-General Scott received a transfer to Auckland. At i large gathering last night he was made several presentations. Mr Young. M.P., declared that on making! enquiries into the allegations he found that a gross injustice ha-d been perpetrated. He would make the country ring with the scandal, and at the risk of losing his seat in Parliament would see that redress was made. Mr Combs, permanent secretary of the P.T.C. Association, who made a special journey from Wellington to be present, declared that he had been authorised by the executive to say that ho had that organisation of five thousand at his back, and was determined to make the Department retreat from its present position and do justice to Scott. The Association would fight the case to the "bitter end.
