WAIKAWA ON FIRE.

The rircuinstances are similar to the Waiinarino's outbreak. The Wnimarino's cargo of copra in No. I hold was destroyed by fire. THE PIKE SUPPRESSED. ..lleutcr'ss Tolegraius J (Received November 17th, l.'Jo a.m.) VANCOUVER. November 15 After a three hours' fight., the Waikawa's fire was got under control. One hundred tons of copra -was ruined. The loss wil' amount to .C^OOO. Mystery is added by the fact that the eopr a was lifted ironi the after-ho:d to a- position on the 'tween decks. Spontaneous combustion is doubted as being the cause. Other cargo \v;v not injured. TUo loss on the copra cargo of the Waimarino is estimated at £1000. An investigation of the remarkable co'.ii'.'iJence is proceeding.
