The "Moniteur Vinicole' T estimates that the French wine crop will bo about 40,000,000 hectolitres, and the quantity available for the seasop 191617, including the Algerian output, to be 53,200,000 hectolitres. The champagne harvest is one of the worst on record, as the. phylloxera did extensive damage. Owing to the scarcity of I labour, the prospects for the future are I not rosy.
