At tho price at which Australian flour con at present be landed, wheat is not worth more than 4s 3d at country stations, , , or 4a Gil f.o.b. There is, therefore, practically notning doing m milling wheat. There is, however, a strong demand for Tuscan wheat for seed purposes, tho solid straw variety being mostly required, and it is tne most plentiful. It is reported that botweon farmers as high as 4s Sd has been paid, and sales have boon niado in town at 4s Gd, and for machine-dress-ed seed as high as os. It is apparent therefore that farmers have become impressed with the necessity for increasinp the area to be sown in jwhcat.-j There is a good demand for oats, and the market is very linn, the removal of tho restriction on their export having strengthened tbo position. A grades are worth up to 2s 2d. and B grades 2s to 2s Id, at country statiorw. There is now more business doing in potatoes, and a largo quantity is being turned over than for sonio time past, the price being £2 at countrj station*. The undermentioned aro the prices paid to fanners at country stations, free of commission sacks extra, excenting where otherwise 6tated:— Wheat (nominal) —Milling 4s 2d i>o 4s 3d; fowl wheat. 4s.to 4s 2d. Oate—A grade 2s, B grade 2s to Us Id. Barley—2s 6d to !s M for best samples.

Cocksfoot—Bright and heavy sample, up to -IJ-d ; average. 3d to A\<\. Whito Clover—9d to 10d.
