GERMAN PRISONERS' FAMILIES.

The families of a number of German prisoners interned on Somee Island are having a hard time, now that their breadwinners have been removed, but they are not to be neglected, for the Mayor of Wellington has been in close touch with Mr Focke, German Consul, with reference to £ eir «g*% J h ? Mayor has assured the Post that where necessary the families of the men will be relieved in accordance with their necessities, and the community can rely upon it that they will not be overlooked and that theirs. will have the attention of tho Mayor m common with other cases of distress requiring relief.
