MR HARPER'S CANDIDATURE
Mr Gordon Harper, who has been selected as tlio Government candidate for the- Riecartcn seat afc the general elections, lias decided that, as the elections may possibly bo postponed and the "needs of the Empire are so great, he will volunteer for service with the New Zealand troops. After consultation with his committee he has agreed to leave his nomination paper in their hands, and they have decided to conduct, the election campaign in his absence if it is necessary.
