A MINISTERIAL STATEMENT
SYDNEY, June 6. The Hon. J. Estell, Minister of Labour replying to a question in the Assembly, said he had no intention of calling a compulsory .conference to deal with the present coal difficulty. Personally, he had always been against the afternoon shift, which gave the proprietors a ccr-tai-j monopoly when the coal trade wae in a flourishing condition, but he still maintained that tha Jaw xaust bo observed.
