Council's claim oh the drill hall, 7 l and .that the Department had now - taken full control of tho building. Ths *-" Hospital and Charitable Aid Board , '. wrote stating that tho amount olio- '' catod for payment by the Council to- l' f wards the Board's funds was £168 23*1! 4d ; which it was agreed to pay iniwo r " half-yearly instalments. A slaughter-" * house license was granted to Mr AY ' Fitz-Gihbon. Permission was given . the Poultry Club to hang their sign over the street on their show day. It was decided to hold a public meeting in ", support of-the Open-air Home for CM- \ drcn. The Finance Committee reported' that- the gas account was owing the general account tho sum of £1348 2s 2d. The Lighting Committee recommended: * I that a lamp-bo placed at the conier>of ' Ivory street and Pound road, and that *- the one at present in Ivory street be removed <jne hundred 'yards .nearer * High street; also that a lamn be placad at the corner of Good and Payne streets, and that the one in AVhito street lie lighted by a resident. The report was adopted. The question of -•" overhanging fences, on footpaths was--* again brought before the Council, and ..* it was decided that the inspector fur- "* nish all the names of the offending pro-* , . perty-owncrs. The receipts for the " month were reported to be £521 Is 3d, and the debit balance, including temporary loans of £880, to bo about , £1784 14s 7d. Accounts for £124 Os . * 2d were passed for payment.
