(SPECIAL TO "THE PRESS.") AUCKLAND, June 4. An improvement took place to-day in Waihi Grand Junction chares. Prior to tho holiday, sales weio made at 25s Cd, but at the first call this morning 25s 9d was paid. At the later calls 26s 3d was reached, at which figure more shares could have been placed. As the Empire lode should be near at hand in the low level, it is quite probable that the rise is due either to it having bora touched, or to indications of ita proximity having been seen.
