Txirks ordered tho inhabitants of three Greek villages in tho Troad (in Asia Minor) to evacuate- a hundred houses, to make room for Moslem refugees from Macedonia. "When the refugee* arrived they turned tho inhabitants oui of doors, appropriated their fiocks, and told tho evicted owners to go to Macedonia. The Metropolitan of Chios has cabled to the Government as follows:—

"Five hundred terror-stricken women and children, miserable victims of the barbarity and rage of v bloodthirsty Turkfsii mob, havo arrived hero from the opposite Asiatic coast, freezing, and fleeing from dishonour and torture."
