A MOTION OF SYMPATHY.
At the meeting of the Lyttelton Harbour Board yesterday, the chairman, Mr il. Moore, referred to the disaster to the Kmoress of Ireland, and proposed the folloVinq: -"That this Board places on record its feeling of deep sorrow at the beroavuroent suffered by the relatives and dependents of those who lost their lives in t>e disaster to the Emprevs of Ireland." Mr A. Kaye, who seconded the motion, said ho had travelled in the Einprers of Ireland in ISOB. and ho co;>!d give his testimony to tho attention paid by the ship's officers throughout the whole of tho trip. It was very marked how they kept themselves from mixing with the passengers. The motion was oar.-ied.
