S@ine Facts and a Moral WENTY-FIVE years ago a good bicycle cost Zβ £25 new. About that time Licycles brgan to advertised in the general Press instead of in the cycling papers alone. By spending large sums in advertising, bicycle manufacturers were able to reduce the prices—first by 50% -at one stroke; and even after that by smalleff degrees. Such inventions as the player-piano, the vacuum cleaner, and similar articles requiring expensive machinery to make them could not be sold at popular prices if it were not for the large output made possible by Advertising. If Advertising makes these things cheap, is it not obvious that the same thing must apply to advertised commodities in general ? The Manufacturer of advertised goods is compelled, in self-protection, to keep up the quality of them: otherwise he would lose his trade. Moral The Advertisements in this paper are your best and safest shopping guide. They show you where Quality and Good Value are to be lound.
