MUSICAL SOCIETY'S CONCERT.

The first subscription concert.of the season will be given at His Majesty's Theatre next Tuesday evening. Mendelssohn's "Elijah" in the oratorio to bo performed, and the members of the Society taking part in the performance have responded with such spirit and enthusiasm to the efforts of their conductor, Mr Thorley, that tho concert on Tuesday has every prospect of equalling that recently given so successfully by the Orchestral Society., Tho soloists who are giving their services to the Society on Tuesday are Madame Gower Burns, Mrs Ernest Firth, Mr John Prouse. and Mr William Jones. Minor parts will be taken by Miss Lezard and Miss Parsons. The box plan opens at Miiner and Thompson's to-day, at 3 p.m.
